By | July 16, 2017

Download the latest BlackBerry version of RIM Desktop Manager.
Before you begin upgrading or installing new applications on your BlackBerry, you want to make sure that you are running the latest version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. If you do not already have your PC software, you can retrieve it from the  download section of RIM’s website..

If you have Desktop Manager, but you are not sure which version you are using, open the program, click the Help icon, and select About BlackBerry Desktop Manager. A dialog box appears to tell you which version you are running. Then proceed to the RIM download page, make sure you have the latest version of the software and download it and install it otherwise.

RIM Desktop Manager BlackBerry Application Update:

Depending on when applications are first downloaded and installed on your BlackBerry smartphone, or when they were installed before your device was shipped, updates may be available.
If you are using the latest version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager – at the time of writing, the latest version is available on the RIM 4.5 website – the software automatically searches for updates when you open the program and connect the device.

To manually check for updates, simply click on the Desktop Manager Application loader component and to the right of the next screen, under the “Update Application” words click Start. The program will review your BlackBerry device configuration and try to find the updates. If they are not available, they are shown in the following screen.

To install the updates, click the following box and follow the instructions. The upgrade process may take a while, so do not be afraid if it is about 10 minutes or so and nothing seems to happen. (Note: Desktop Manager may not find the updates available for third-party applications, so the best way to make sure all applications is updated are to read the web pages of software vendors.)
